WP3 Prep

1. Going into my presentation, i felt prepared but really nervous for some odd reason. I was not able to speak my mind clearly and kept stuttering and quickly talking through my presentation. I was sure i knew what I wanted to say but in my head it was not perfect. I think that if I was to have a stop watch near me to know what pace I was presenting at, that would have helped. I feel like also for the future I should not let my nerves get to me and just to pretend like I am the only one speaking in the room. Wanting to do well on this assignment, my nerves got the best of me and I somewhat felt like I mumbled on. Going forward, I think that I can just calm down and know that this presentation is behind me and will do better in the future. I forgot to mention the research I had done on Huddart in my speech and that is something that is definitely going to be needed once I prepare my Acura project proposal email. 2. What is the potential benefit of technological advancement in internat...

E-Commerce and Foreign retailers might not sound like it, but they have much more in common than you might think. As much as they are different from one another, as E-Commerce is internet based and foreign retailers may exist anywhere around the country, both markets experience the same struggles by entering preexisting foundations. Ecommerce and foreign retailer startups provoke a change in a market whenever any new business is entering the field. First foreign grocery retails enters the Finnish market—a stakeholder model written by Outi Uusitalo and E-commerce technology adaptation: A Malaysian grocery SME retail sector study written by Shareah Kurnia both study how a new business enters a previously established market and its transition towards success or failure.             The study on E-commerce is important so that industries can see what works and what does not. They are made up of small and medium ente...

Steven Huddart is a Smeal Chair Professor in Accounting at Penn State. He is an expert in insider trading as well as stock based compensation. Huddart focuses on questions that surround how decisions are impacted by information, incentives, social norms, and behavioral biases. He also studies how decisions can impact company revenue and people’s actions in ownership and how that can impact a company. As a person who is interested in business, I have many questions and many things i found interesting about Huddart. For one, he mentions how decisions are impacted by incentives, social norms, information, and behavioral bias. Some of my questions I have are similar to what he studies: Would a company’s CEO succeed more if he was lenient and friendlier to his workers or stern and strict to maintain at a certain pace?, Would one company work with another more often because of loyalty and higher prices or with a company without any loyalty and cheaper prices? CEO’s are the top decision ma...

WP1 Extra Credit

1 Thesis Cereal coupons are all made up of different and specifically detailed conventions allowing them to target a specific type of audience depending on age and the consumer needs. 2 Coupon books differ from other coupon sources by targeting a specific audience, being in store shoppers looking to buy a lot and save a lot. 3 Newspaper coupons target a an older aged audience since they read the newspaper often. Specific cereal coupons are in the newspaper like ones with high fiber. 4 Online coupons are useful but sometimes unattainable for those that do not have a printer. Coming into writing my WP1, I was clueless and was overthinking everything. I believed it was going to be a challenge to write this but when I started everything seemed to easily fall into its place. Throughout high school, I was taught to use a 5 paragraph structure in almost every paper. Though I knew I can include more than 5 total paragraphs, that idea skipped my head...
