Coming into writing my WP1, I was clueless and was
overthinking everything. I believed it was going to be a challenge to write
this but when I started everything seemed to easily fall into its place.
Throughout high school, I was taught to use a 5 paragraph structure in almost
every paper. Though I knew I can include more than 5 total paragraphs, that
idea skipped my head and I stuck with the structure I used the most. I realized
I can expand my writing and my thoughts and to space out my paragraphs so one
of them won’t take up an entire page. After getting feedback from Zack, it made
me realize that I could have spread out my paragraphs to make the paper look not
as crammed. Going forward, I can change two things about my writing style. I
can space out my ideas which I would think should be an entire paragraph and I can
use a wider variety of vocabulary. I noticed I used the same couple terms like ‘constraints’
and ‘audiences’ a large amount of times and should focus more on other
conventions such as tone, logos, pathos, and ethos. By spacing out my
paragraphs, it will conclude one idea about a certain topic and I can continue
my thoughts about the same topic in my next paragraph. I believe that WP1
helped me dig deep into small details and learn how to fully analyze a genre.
